How can I get Narcan?
Narcan (naloxone) is a medicine that can rapidly reverse an opioid overdose.

For Individuals

  • NOSC has received Narcan from CA's Naloxone Distribution Project. We do monthly community Narcan Distributions. Email napaopioidsafetycoalition@gmail.com to get details on the next one, or visit our events tab. While supplies last, 1 per person.

 

  • Have you exhausted local resources or cannot access naloxone any other way? Check out Next Distro, you may qualify to have it mailed to you. First, watch a short 4 min video, take a 4-question quiz, and submit your request with no insurance or cost required. Someone will get in touch with you.

  • Find Narcan at your local pharmacy. Pharmacies in California are authorized to sell Naloxone without a prescription, although make sure to check the specific locations availability. Call your local pharmacy ahead of time to ensure it is in stock, available without a prescription, and to ask about insurance coverage or out of pocket cost and if coupons can be used. Check out SingleCare and GoodRx to purchase Narcan for a fraction of the cost.

 

  • Get Narcan for the price of shipping at EndOverdose.net. Simply create an account or log in, watch a naloxone administration video, take a short quiz, and pay for the cost of shipping. A 2ct supply will be delivered right to your door.

This is for:

  • First responders, fire, EMS

  • Law enforcement, courts, & criminal justice partners

  • Community organizations, Harm reduction organizations, homeless programs, veteran organizations, religious organizations

  • Schools, universities, libraries

  • County public health or behavioral health agencies

  • Substance Use Recovery Facilities (inpatient, outpatient, residential, sober living homes)

  • Hospitals and Emergency Departments

Apply through California Department of Health Care Serivices Naloxone Distribution Project. Check out their page for the requirements needed. Email your application and supporting material to Naloxone@dhcs.ca.gov. Please note entire process can take about 2-4 months. Min order or 12, max of 2,100.
