Community Outreach & Provider Education

It is known that disparities in education mirror disparities in health. NOSC is committed to increasing our community’s health literacy by distributing information to parents, caregivers, youth, schools, neighbors, and other community members on the dangers of fentanyl poisoning and substance use. We also strive to share crucial information specifically to our physicians, practitioners, therapists, and other clinical caregivers on prescribing guidelines and resources available to share with patients.

What we do:

  • NOSC promotes harm reduction through the training and distribution of Narcan, a lifesaving medication that reverses the effects of overdose.

  • We also promote safe storage and disposal of medications through the distribution of pill locking caps and Deterra, safe medication disposal bags

  • We collaborate with community partners provide fentanyl education and awareness for example through outreach and town hall. Check out our Events page for upcoming events!

  • NOSC also distributes resources about the dangers of fentanyl, education on safe storage and disposal of unwanted medications, how to talk to youth about fentanyl, and more! If you are interested in flyers or more information,  please email opioidsafetycoalition@gmail.com

  • We partner with local non-profits and businesses to provide fentanyl education and awareness.
